Your Role:

As a Senior Network Engineer at Core One, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and enhancing highly available, scalable, web-based, and mobile product solutions. Your responsibilities will span from planning, designing, and implementing enterprise networks and secure communications solutions to monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our growing and innovative team, leveraging your extensive technical and mission experience to drive the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Plan, design, implement, monitor, and maintain enterprise networks and secure communications solutions.
• Analyze network data and infrastructure to identify inefficiencies and resolve issues proactively.
• Install, configure, and support software, servers, routers, security equipment, and other network devices from industry-leading vendors.
• Monitor and report on overall network service performance, taking action to correct deficiencies in monitoring and controlling the quality of individual network services.
• Create and implement robust network security measures.
• Collaborate in the design and review of new data, voice, and telephony deployments.
• Work closely with the Software Development team to develop custom solutions as needed.
• Maintain firewalls to ensure proper security controls are in place.
• Provide support for new applications and upgrades to existing systems.
• Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for network administrative tasks.
• Automate network monitoring to take a proactive approach in mitigating network issues.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in technology, protocols, and best practices.

Requirements and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or additional 5+ years of relevant experience (in lieu of education).
• Experience with secure communications systems (VPNs) (e.g., pfSense, Wireguard, OpenVPN, etc.).
• Proficiency in network protocols and complex routing/switching (e.g., SD WAN, BGP, MPLS).
• Familiarity with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, enabling you to understand others and express your thoughts clearly.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

• Networking skills professional certification (e.g., CCNP / CCDP level equivalent or greater, not limited to Cisco).
• Experience with computer network defense and related cybersecurity practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and virtualization.
• Experience developing mobile applications (Android and iOS) and cellular networks (4G/LTE, 5G).
• Expertise in working in agile teams and environments.
