Job Description
Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network & voice infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, Wireless, switches, firewalls, routers, VoIP, and other networking equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning and Design - Plan, develop, and implement network solutions:
- Research new network technologies
- Develop network infrastructure roadmap
- Design and implement network solutions
Monitoring - Monitoring Accuray network elements to ensure security and availability, including:
- Responsible for the security, availability, and reliability of the corporate IP infrastructure.
- Create and deliver IP infrastructure performance metrics to IT management
- Monitor IP infrastructure to ensure performance meets IT service-level expectations
- Analyze IP infrastructure performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Technologies - Support Accuray infrastructure technologies, providing hands on technology support and review for all products in use and provide guidance for technology fit products.
- Management of Accuray's WAN, LAN, Firewall, Routers, Switches, Wireless, Voice infrastructure, etc
- Participate in departmental initiatives to improve the corporate IP infrastructure
- Establish and maintain IP infrastructure standards
- Recommend IP infrastructure vendors and solutions to IT management.
- Responsible for voice infrastructure including call routing and call center technologies
- Coordinate external repairs, RMA's, & retirement of end-of-life networking devices
- Participate on corporate and departmental project teams
Supporting Accuray - Provide support for the Accuray environment and user community:
- Diagnose and resolve problems/issues related to the IP infrastructure
- Adhere to corporate, departmental, and team policies and procedures
- Ensure end-user customer satisfaction
- Participate in after-hours & emergency support protocols.
- Perform additional IT duties as assigned
Maintain Knowledge Base - Keep abreast of latest network/security best practices, advisories, alerts, and vulnerabilities pertaining to the company and its mission. Advise IT organization with current information about information network/security technologies. Lead the design and deployment of information network/security architecture and infrastructure.
Education and Training - Coordinate the development and delivery of communication and training programs to support the network and telecommunication services.
Qualifications:
a. Required:
- 10+ years experience and expertise of core network and WAN technologies including MPLS, IP VPN, and telecoms systems. Such as:
Cisco routers/switches/firewalls (ie. ASA 5500 Family, 2900/3800 ISR Routers, Catalyst 3750X stacks, 4500/6500 chassis switches, Nexus & WaaS)
Cisco Wireless technologies
Experience with Layer 2 technologies (Spanning-Tree, Virtual Port Channel, Virtual Switching System). - Strong experience in dynamic routing protocols (ie. EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, etc.)
- Strong experience with enterprise networking technologies
- Experience in fiber channel switch technologies
b. Preferred or Desired:
- System management and monitoring: SolarWinds Orion, WebSense, sysLogging, etc.
- Cisco routers/switches
- Cisco wireless
- Cisco ISE
- Palo Alto firewalls
- Juniper switches
- Juniper Mist wireless

Accuray pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Accuray Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
