What You Will Do

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for implementation of technology and services for the Network Services platform with a particular focus on the security hardware and services overseen by the Network Team. This position aligns with IT and Business project teams to deliver network solutions that support key initiatives. The Senior Network Engineer builds solutions based on standard designs, working with Managed Services Partners of both the Network and GIS teams to effectively deliver services to end users. This position is a contributor to the continuous improvement of network services to support business outcomes and to reduce the risk of cyber-security incidents to Clarios. The Senior Network Security Engineer reports to the Director of Network Services.

How You Will Do It

  • Implement Network Solutions especially those involving site WAN/LAN/WLAN infrastructure, Network segmentation, Client Proxy, CASB and Partner Access solutions. Build implementation plans and security appliance templates. Collaborate with Managed Services Partners. Employ Flawless Execution methodology for change management.
  • Provide Consultation services to internal customers. Collect requirements from application teams. Use insights to recommend the most appropriate standard Network security solutions that meets requirements.
  • Define and support standard Network Security Solutions - Derive and document configuration standards using the Clarios Engineering processes. Deliver designs to stake holders during project phase gates.
  • Support Incident Management - Provide Level 3 support for Incident management. Provide support and mentoring to the Managed Services Partner to improve their incident management capabilities. Respond to major incidents impacting Clarios manufacturing production
  • Perform Problem Management - Work with partners to systematically identify Incidents that can be escalated into problems. Dive deep into problems to find root cause and preventative steps
  • Coordinate with Global Infrastructure and Information Security platforms - Coordinate with Hosting and Cloud on delivery of robust network security services in the hosting environment including WAN, Internet, Switching, Firewall and CASB services. Work with business customers and Information Security to ensure successful network segmentation support, third party access request fulfillment and updates as needed to system templates.
  • Define and execute initiatives to continuously improve Infrastructure Services. Take input from customer feedback and external vendors. Translate input into action that makes Infrastructure services quicker to deliver, less expensive and/or more secure and effective.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a Network Engineering role.
  • Demonstrated experience in Network Security infrastructure support
  • Proven track record developing IT solutions and services to the actual business customer.
  • Technical proficiency with key technologies and services supporting Network Infrastructure. Cisco certifications including CCIE, CCNP or CCSP are desired. Qualifications with Meraki, Firepower, Fortinet, Zscaler and F5 are preferred.
  • Excellent business management acumen and strong, broad technical background. Able to understand the broader business objectives and business processes that need to be supported by IT and develop effective IT services based on strong technical mastery and understanding of the IT solutions.
  • Entrepreneurial mind set ready to move projects forward with an ability to make decisions. At the same time possess the right motivational, negotiation and conviction skills to develop a broad, comprehensive support for IT infrastructure solutions delivered by the infrastructure organization.
  • Develops organizational culture for operational excellence. Instills customer service attitude and work ethic throughout the department.
  • Effective communicator with both IT technical and business customer audiences. Ability to work in a multinational environment with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds (IT and non-IT). In addition, ability to write effective management project reports, standards documentation and other relevant business communication.
  • Experience in a global manufacturing company working across major geographic regions is preferred.
  • Minimum travel may be required, as needed (up to 5%)
