Senior Network Engineer

The Sr Engineer - Network Engineer is focused on high availability networking in support of Verisign's global Corporate networking infrastructure. Using a broad range of technologies, this individual ensures that our services exceed customer expectations. Troubleshoots complex network and VoIP issues involving various factors. Collaborates across the enterprise, working with other technical teams in a lead role on projects representing these functional areas. Must have extensive knowledge of Internet, computer, routers, switches, firewall, load balancer and VoIP technologies.

Responsibilities: 

• Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems. Resolves highly sophisticated technical issues and conducts advanced research
• Leads improvements in network performance by making design recommendations
• Creates and completes complex maintenance plans, as well as documentation and process improvements
• Drives incident resolution and response times down by identifying and resolving root cause issues
• Performs deep analysis of network performance data and locates actionable items within
• Participates in the development and execution of disaster recovery drills
• Secures and hardens Verisign’s Corporate network against threats
• Working closely with vendors on patch management and vulnerability mitigations
• Ability to gather, analyze and interpret data to identify a problem or risk, developing a readout to Senior Leadership

Requirements:

• 4 Year / Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of related experience in Network Security/VoIP Engineering
• Advanced, hands-on troubleshooting skills
• Deep understanding of design and scaling considerations for medium scale production environments with exceptional uptime requirements
• Understanding of various network elements including routers, load balancers, firewalls, and switches from major vendors
• Experience working with Cisco products C9300, C9400, ASR1K, Nexus 93180, ISR 1100 and 4000 series
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and design considerations against security frameworks such as CIS Controls
• Experience working with Cisco networking products (CUBE routers): VoIP (CUCM, Unity, Presence, UCCX, CAD, Finesse)
• Technical knowledge of VoIP/IP telephony systems, software, hardware, and Telecommunications standards (Q.931, VoIP, SIP, RTP/RTCP, H323)
• Strong troubleshooting skills / hands-on knowledge of the configuration and optimization of Cisco CUCM VoIP and video equipment. Cisco Webex Teams (Roomkits, Touch10)
• Experience with SIP and H323 voice signaling protocol configuration experience
• Able to participate in an on call rotation with fellow engineers

Preferred:

• Industry certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, Collaboration
• Familiarity with Solarwinds and Service Now

If you live in CO, CA, NY, Washington State the annualized pay range for this role is $141,400 - $191,200.

The anticipated annualized base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
