Senior Network Engineer, IT, South Bend, IN

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for supports the Banks LAN and WAN hardware and software. Supports the Banks network security infrastructure. Works with Network Team to assist with their daily duties in managing IT network infrastructure. Works with IT Manager to direct and assist staff with their daily duties and managing IT network projects.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Supports the Banks local and wide area network hardware, software, and design.
• Supports the Banks network security infrastructure including network authentication, firewall configuration, and design.
• Performs advanced hardware and software trouble shooting activities.
• Responsible for documenting and/or reviewing the Banks network infrastructure.
• Diagnoses the resolution of network configuration and implementation issues.
• Monitors network expansion, reviews network security issues, rules, and policies.
• Evaluates new products and architect of network infrastructure.
• Works with IT Network Manager to direct and assist staff with their daily duties and managing IT Network projects.
• Able to understand banking applications, how they inter-act, and the network impact.
• Assists in helping other teams troubleshoot issues.
• Responsible for the completion of all compliance training related to the position.
• Understands all applicable laws and regulations that apply to the position and comply with the requirements.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• Ten (10) or more years of network engineering experience preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge of Cisco based LAN and WAN environments.
• Advanced working knowledge of firewalls, access control lists, and security configuration.
• Ability to demonstrate an advanced working knowledge of switching, routing, and security.
• Ability to diagnose and correct all network hardware and software configuration problems and failures.
• Good project management skills.
• Ability to educate and pass on technical knowledge to other team members.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules.
• Good written and verbal communications.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS

Two or more of the following certifications preferred: CCDP, CCNP R&S, CCNP Security, CCNP Voice, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Wireless, CCIE R&S, CCIE Security.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to travel as needed for meetings, projects, support, training, etc.
