Group/Division
KLA has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA). The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology. We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market. The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.
The NPI Sourcing managers will be responsible for technical sourcing, supplier relationship management, and program management of technical components, subsystems, and systems that are developed with and/or procured from our supply chain. Requires a blend of technical and business expertise as well as solid interpersonal and negotiation skills to contribute, lead, and manage at all organizational levels, both internally and externally. Lead and manage cross-functional and cross-divisional (as needed) teams to ensure timely achievement of milestones, effective supplier relationship management, and on-time delivery of high-quality material goods and services at the lowest possible costs. A strong contributor to achievement of all business objectives, including technology and product requirements, cost reductions, product improvements, and problem resolutions.
- PLC Leadership and execution for supply chain readiness
- Ensure compliance to PLC phase exit requirements and project deliverables: Quality, Delivery, Technology, Cost targets, and supplier manufacturing readiness.
- Support, lead, and manage the early involvement of key suppliers in our technology and NPI programs managing the sometimes conflicting technical and business challenges/priorities.
- Manage NPI project cost target, identify and mitigate cost risks during development and after product release to volume manufacturing.
- Work closely with category managers to align sourcing activities and objectives to the commodity specific category strategies, and drive business leverage and early supplier engagement in new product development.
- Complete NPI risk assessment for suppliers in terms of technology/IP, cost, capacity, quality and manufacturing readiness.
- Lead supplier evaluation, selection and justification, may lead or support supplier audits and onboarding process.
- Prepare and negotiate sourcing package - NDAs, DA (Development Agreement), RFQs, SOWs etc, and ensure supplier development or purchase agreement are in place during development phase.
- Perform make vs buy analysis aligned with product sourcing and manufacturing strategy.
- Manage supplier performance, cost, quality and value proposition (e.g. IP protection) in support of program goals and facilitate supplier collaboration in early PLC phase / design reviews.
- Drive supplier development effort to ensure supply chain readiness in terms of quality system, documentation, capacity management, yield, business continuity plan, and business process etc.
- Attend regular Forecast and SCM update meetings, support sub-tier escalation activities, and strengthen supplier relationships.
- Partner with Operations and development teams to manage new product release process.
- Support materials team on supply chain localization of sustaining products.
Minimum Qualifications
- Positions require a minimum of a BS Degree in a technical engineering field or equivalent; In addition, an MBA is preferred. Relevant industry experience in engineering or product development, as well as experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, or procurement. Experience in NPI and project management is a plus.
- Positions require solid technical, business, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Positions require a technical understanding of our products, commodities, and components, as well as an understanding of both our suppliers' and our own business and market trends.
- Ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that map to and support overall business strategies.
- Ability to manage supplier relationship and lead complex commercial negotiations.
- Ability to develop and negotiate NDA, Development and Purchase Agreement, and Statement of Work.
- Ability to develop and manage supplier business reviews and scorecards.
- Ability to contribute and drive technical solutions both internally and externally.
- Ability to facilitate meetings effectively with suppliers and KLA global teams.
- Ability to influence peers or other functional groups to achieve common business objectives.
- Able to ensure compliance with company supply chain management best practices, policies, procedures, and external compliance requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
