Senior Operations Analyst (Financial Statement Data)

The Market Data department within the OTC Markets Group Inc. is now seeking a seasoned Analyst to serve as subject matter expert for Fundamental Financial dataset. This individual will be responsible for review, analysis and approval of SEC & OTC Financial data, while ensuring the accuracy of financial tagged data to downstream products in a complete, consistent, and timely manner.

This is a remote position with occasional visits to NYC office required. This opportunity is open to workers located in New York, District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Florida, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and California.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform data quality reviews on SEC & OTC financial statement (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) data (and non-financials) via manual and automated validation checks, ensuring consistency period over period.
• Review and analyze content to ensure data is captured according to established tagging guidelines and rules.
• Monitor work queue continuously to address documents that have been processed and ready for final review and approval to product.
• Ensure the timely and accurate approval of content to product.
• Record daily all data errors noted during quality reviews, providing manager and offshore processing team of document details of corrections/actions needed.
• Assist in providing offshore QC team a list of documents daily that require preliminary quality checks performed.
• Perform historical clean-up activities during non-crunch periods, related to mapping anomalies and tagging of financials to ensure data is mapped consistently period over period.
• Assist in researching and resolving data questions, issues raised by internal / external clients.

SKILLS

• Degree in Accounting/Finance/related field or equivalent experience.
• Prior SEC/OTC financial data experience a plus. Understanding of financial company statements and underlying accounting concepts.
• Strong research and data analytics skills.
• Detail Oriented.
• Knowledge/Experience with SEC defined XBRL Tagging
• Issue identification and resolution.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask & work within tight time constraints.
• Ability to work overtime/weekends during peak filing periods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to coach, guide offshore analysts on content related questions, document priorities and collection rules.

Compensation: The target base salary for this role is between $70K - $85k DOE, with additional compensation composed of stock options, competitive discretionary annual cash bonus, and discretionary equity awards. Actual salary within that range is dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
