What You'll Do

As a Senior Operations Analyst within the Individual Annuities group, you'll play a key role in delivering a best in class experience to The Standard's MVP channel partners. Using Lean problem solving, you'll identify and lead department wide process improvements, create operational efficiencies aimed at creating capacity to support sustainable growth, and improve both customer experience and organizational performance.

Key responsibilities
  • You'll be a primary point of contact for channel partners engaged in The Standard's MVP program. You'll use insights gained through service support, to identify longer term process improvement opportunities.
  • You'll apply Lean methodologies including A3 problem solving and value stream mapping to deliver continuous improvement in Annuities operational support and organizational performance.
  • You'll own the relationship between Annuities Operations and other key functions, including compliance, model office, actuary, sales and producer services. Through collaborative relationships, you'll work with your cross functional peers to develop and implement improvements and measures. You'll establish best practices for building and growing the relationship between operations and our internal partners.
  • You'll stay current on all initiatives related to the Annuities business, and understand their impact on the department. You'll keep the department informed of changes in compliance related rules, and ensure the department is prepared to support those changes. You'll lead the efforts to update forms, systems, and processes related to these initiatives. You'll understand risk related to key controls, and support managers in review and sign off of ICFR controls.

The Skills and Background You'll Need
  • 5-7 years' experience in financial services or insurance, with 3 years' progressive experience in individual annuities, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • High school diploma required. Advanced training in data analysis, problem solving and process improvement highly desired.
  • Experience with Lean problem solving, including A3 methodology.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication, training, and leadership skills
  • Advanced knowledge of annuity products, including the effects of financial, legal, or tax consequences desired.
  • Experience work with insurance industry software desired
  • Demonstrated skills in interpreting and applying accounting principles and technical or legal information to practical situations.

The Standard's package also includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.

  • Please note, eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.


Salary Range:
$62,000.00 - $108,800.00
