Job Description

Help us make a big green dent in the universe. We're on a mission to drive the global renewable energy revolution, and we need loads more people to help us make our vision a reality.

We believe energy should be better - for you and the environment.

We’re spearheading the transition to greener, cheaper energy through the

installation of in-home technologies; from smart meters and electric car

chargers; to low carbon heating, home batteries, solar, and beyond. Utilising

Octopus’ awesome tech power, we deliver smart energy solutions for our

customers.

As the face of the company, our diverse, industry-leading field force delivers the

same outrageous experience Octopus customers love and expect.

Find out more about where we come from and what makes us tick from our CEO,

John HERE https://octopus.energy/blog/Octopus-energy-services-CEO/

Octopus Energy proudly enjoys a 5-star TrustPilot ranking from our customers.

We were named the Company that’s done the most in the past year to advance

UK renewables at the REA Awards 2019, and most recently, our proudest award,

that of Best Company to Work For. Our group includes Octopus Energy, Octopus

for Business, Kraken Technology, Octopus Electric Vehicles and as well as our

new Octopus Centre for Net Zero.

We recently secured over £500 million of investment from Origin, Australia's

largest Energy Company and Tokyo Gas, to help us continue our mission.

At Octopus Energy Services, we’re executing phenomenal growth plans, and we

recognise our supply chain as a critical strategic enabler to help deliver our

aspirations at speed and scale.

What you'll do

Directly manage and motivate a team supporting warehouse and transport operations in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.

Have rota, site and ‘keys’ responsibility for the efficient running of the distribution centre, and transport fleet, with accountability to make sure the site, yard and fleet are always clean, organised and safe.

Proactively lead and manage health & safety, staff welfare and operational risks.

Rapidly develop and continuously improve a highly resilient, sustainable and efficient logistics, distribution and last-mile delivery channel.

Promote harmonious colleague relations through formal and informal communication channels

Quickly understand the root cause of performance results, leading changes to drive efficiency and improvements.

What you'll need

Be flexible to work and lead shifts allocated between 06:00 – 22:00 any day of the week and reasonably flexible to accommodate changes at short notice.

Be able to speak confidently and comfortably directly with customers with a friendly, proactive and ‘can do attitude’ including handling any customer escalations. We’ll do everything to make the customer experience perfect.

Be very computer literate and comfortable adopting and promoting the use of new tech

You will be resilient and able to adapt to changing situations and priorities, remaining calm under pressure.

Have experience of starting up a distribution centre or building fleet operations in a leadership position.

Have a full UK Driving License (no more than 3 points).

Forklift driving experience is desirable but not essential

Why else you'll love it here

Octopus Energy is a unique culture. An organisation where people learn, decide, and build quicker. Where people work with autonomy, alongside a wide range of amazing co-owners, on projects that break new ground. We want your hard work to be rewarded with perks you actually care about!
