Job Overview
The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is currently in search of a motivated Operations Manager for our Manheim, PA facility. TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.
Responsibilities• Plan, direct, and monitor production activities with the objective of maximizing the use of organizational resources to meet or exceed established targets for Safety, TEOA (LEAN), Quality, Delivery, Cost, Employee Engagement, and Talent Development• Provide support to Supervisors and Leads• Drive Out Wastes and Increase Labor and Equipment Efficiency• Focus on quality expectations of the customer and creating an extraordinary customer experience (ECE)• Measure performance (results and behaviors) while providing timely performance feedback and coaching• Retain and develop key talent• Conducts daily audits of the manufacturing processes to ensure all safety, quality, and process standards are being followed• Ensure internal audit findings are corrected by the production team• Responsible for driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost using TEOA tools and philosophy• Ability to network and work collaboratively with other functions in a global matrix organization• Compliance to on-time delivery, work center performance metrics, and customer quality expectations• Labor, waste, material variance, and expense budget objectives met in areas of accountability• Ensure that established quality policies, safety rules, and environmental regulations are followed• Manage, monitor, and report on capacity requirements• Work closely with the manufacturing engineering groups to ensure process safety, quality, and productivity• Participate in operation and project review meetings• Interviews applicants for operations jobs• Provide mentoring and on-going support to manufacturing team members• Understanding of quality documentation and reporting• Daily review of production schedules• Report the need for overtime as necessary• Provide reports and updates on performance measurements• Ensure that roles and expectations are clearly communicated throughout the entire value stream.
What your background should look like:• Bachelor's degree with 12+ year's experience; with minimum 5-years' experience in supervision and manufacturing operations• Proven experience in organization transformation, team leadership, and team development• Must have success in process improvements to drive efficiency and elimination of wastes• Lean Manufacturing Experience• Knowledge of MRP/ERP Planning and Execution Concepts (SAP Platform utilized)• Knowledge of Budgets, Financial Terms, and Accounting Concepts• Management and Communication skills with ability to communication to all levels of organization• Strong knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, as well as other Data Analytic Software• Experience leading in a fast paced, high performing culture• Self-motivation - be able to work under pressure, be flexible, reliable and able to deliver results according to specific targets in direct support of departmental goals and objectives.
This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). COMPENSATION• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $106,400 - $159,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
