Senior Operations / Technical Analyst

The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Senior Operations / Technical Analyst to manage and support scientific, engineering, and technical analysis of prospective and ongoing prototypes and demonstrations of emerging, innovative technologies for the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). This position is onsite at a Government location(s) in the National Capital Region (with telecommuting, as approved). The candidate demonstrates mature judgement required to interface with senior Government personnel and external stakeholders including other Government agencies, academia, and industry. The candidate also coordinates office operations across the administrative and technical functions while identifying process improvement opportunities.

This position requires a candidate with experience leading and performing a variety of tasks to support Government leaders, providing:

• Science, engineering, technical, management, and professional support

provide support to project management, proposal reviews, analysis, and funding recommendations

• Demonstrate understanding of security standards and information security and compliance frameworks, controls, and best practices
• Maintain situational awareness of all Rapid Defense Experimentation Reserve (RDER) programmatic actions and activities
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the processes and procedures of the office
• Support or develop briefings and documentation as required
• Respond to daily inquiries and requests for information
• Coordinate and collaborate across the Department of Defense and with other Government agencies, academia, and industry for situational awareness and information sharing.

Required Qualifications:

• BS degree a recognized engineering, scientific, technical, management, or national security area
• 7-9 years of related experience
• Current top security clearance
• Background in OUSD(R&E) programs
• Experience supporting US Government clients
• Experience with project Management and analysis
• Experience developing technical presentations, packages, and Executive-level correspondence

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Joint operations
• Previous SETA experience
• MS or MA degree in a relevant discipline
• Top Secret with TS/SCI eligibility clearance (or DCID 6/4 eligibility within the last five (5) years)

This position is contingent upon award of a contract expected in March 2023 supporting a US Government customer.
