You're a great fit if you have: (these are the MUST haves to be a fit)

• a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope and complexity.
• an active TS/SSBI and be SCI eligible
• a BA/BS in Engineering or IT related discipline.
• a minimum of 8570 IAT II and SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) certification required and (one of the following certs)

• CCNA Security
• CySA+ **
• GICSP
• GSEC
• Security+ CE
• CND
• SSCP

• experience supporting backbone connectivity for fiber optics platforms and associated equipment
• technical knowledge and coordination experience with OSP fiber optic information systems (structured cabling systems for voice, data, video using fiber)
• senior level experience to monitor, design, troubleshoot, install, configure, implement, document, and train network monitoring and management tools.

• have experience with developing operational concepts (CONOPS), mission threads, and approaches to employment of optical fiber systems.

• GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification
• Netreo Certified Monitoring Engineer
• Paessler Certified Monitoring Expert

What your day will look like:

You will work with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and direct the design of fiber routing/connections/components, end/end splicing and testing of fiber and integration into the network. You will provide monitoring for critical Agency enterprise optical assets to include network equipment, servers, and key end user devices. You will serve as a technical liaison between network operations and various work centers. You will also support root cause analysis for major outages, monitoring of key performance indicators for the network, and outage resolution and maintenance coordination at the Tier 1 through 2 levels. Assist the Government in developing operational concepts (CONOPS), mission threads, and approaches to employment of optical fiber systems. You will ensure system expansions are planned and conducted on a sound engineering basis including management of technical risks
