Location: Marcus Thomas is based in Cleveland, Ohio

WORKING ARRANGEMENT:

  • In-person/hybrid for Northeast Ohio residents
  • Remote for residents in the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, MI, NC, NH, PA, TN, TX, VA

The role

Overall, the senior paid search manager will fully own assigned paid search accounts from strategy to execution and be responsible for the overall success of assigned accounts, ensuring all KPIs are met or exceeded. Other responsibilities include:


  • Managing budget and ensuring monthly/quarterly/annual spend goals are reached.
  • Serving as subject matter expert and helping to educate agency staff on paid search.
  • Developing and implementing effective paid search strategies.
  • Creating and managing paid search campaigns across various platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Bing Ads) to achieve campaign objectives and KPIs.
  • Continuously testing and refining ad copy, landing pages and bidding strategies to improve campaign performance.
  • Staying updated with industry trends, search engine algorithms and best practices in paid search advertising.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align paid search efforts with overall marketing goals.
  • Providing strategic recommendations to improve overall SEM performance and identify growth opportunities.
      • Tracking and reporting on key metrics, and presenting performance reports to internal team and clients.
      • Managing relationships with external partners, such as vendors, to ensure efficient execution of paid search campaigns.

 

Leadership
  • Works in partnership with most departments/disciplines in the agency; however, works most closely with account management, analytics and creative, demonstrating a complete understanding of all clients’ businesses and communications objectives.
  • Provides leadership and continued education to the rest of the agency around the function and role of search in campaigns.
  • Mentors and develops junior media staff.

Standard Qualifications
  • Three to five years of experience with paid search management. Agency experience preferred but not required.
  • Three or more years of direct experience leading paid search strategy on large, multichannel media accounts.
  • Two or more years of experience directly managing team members.
  • Experience collaborating with a large account team working on multimedia channels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of paid search platforms, including Google Ads, Bing Ads and their associated offline editors.
  • Basic knowledge of analytics platforms, specifically Google Analytics.
  • Knowledge of search technology providers, such as Google Campaign Manager and Search Ads 360.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of agency processes and business.
