Senior Paralegal-Banking Group

As a member of Northern Trust's Legal Department, this paralegal will be primarily responsible for supporting the Banking Group attorneys and their business partners on a wide range of banking-related matters in a manner consistent with Northern Trust's enduring principles of Service, Expertise and Integrity. The position reports to a Senior Legal Counsel within the Banking Group.

Primary Responsibilities

•Documents private client and commercial loans using standard templates•Assists in updating and maintaining standard banking-related templates•Manages storage and retention of inter-affiliate agreements on Legal Department SharePoint site•Manages timely and appropriate response to requests for non-standard client verification letters•Assists with registration tracking and maintenance of corporate intellectual property•Supports Banking Group attorneys on bank regulatory matters•Researches matters in support of Banking Group attorneys•Participates in other corporate initiatives, as requested

•Minimum 5 years or more of experience at a nationally recognized law firm and/or in-house legal department providing paralegal services in relevant areas•Ability to provide paralegal support on a wide range of banking and other legal matters;•Research skills sufficient to conduct in-depth research using legal search engines;•Excellent oral and written communication skills;•Ability to work collaboratively on teams and manage relationships with attorneys and business partners at all levels of the organization;•Interest and enthusiasm about involvement in emerging legal and/or regulatory issues.

Paralegal certificate•Understanding of documentation requirements for secured and unsecured lending is preferred;•Experience in loan document preparation using standard templates is preferred
