Job Title:  Paralegal

Location: Palo Alto, CA (50% onsite)

SUMMARY: 

The Senior Paralegal role works both independently and collaboratively across departments to triage legal requests, to strategically evaluate, build, and improve workflows with a focus on consistency, efficiency, and minimizing room for error, to establish goals, to adhere to financial objectives, and to create a culture of compliance.  The role also works closely with the other members of the legal team to provide general paralegal services for Hyperfine, with a focus on docket management, prioritizing projects for attorneys, coordinating work flow between organization and legal, administrating our CLM (IronClad), doing on line research, 
handling corporate registrations, and any other legal matters that may arise. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Senior Paralegal 

• Manage our CLM software: IronClad. Proficiency and administrative skill in this program is required.  
• Coordinating cross-departmentally to identify issues, design and develop workflow, utilize technology, ease communication, and maximize efficiency of legal work between departments 
• Develop legal workflow and procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize room for errors and budget spend 
• Assist in the evaluation of technology and workflow for maximum usability and minimum budget spend 
• Work with all departments as projects arise 
• Support Hyperfine’s Attorneys with docket management, file management and organizing all legal matters for easy access and identification of legal requirements. 
• Facilitate the flow of legal work where appropriate by Collect and enter data into form documents, proper identification of forms needed per task, working with internal stakeholders to move legal work from initial request to lawyer review. 
• Attend meetings and participate as appropriate. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL: 

• Tech Savvy, can use modern computer equipment and software without requiring training. Must be able to learn how to use program features on their own.  
• Strong legal research, reviewing, and drafting skills 
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and complete mission critical tasks with minimal oversight 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

• Associate Degree or higher 
• Ten or more years of relevant experience with a wide variety of agreements and legal documents and legal operations, including budgeting and workflow building with 3+ years in a law firm, and 3+ years corporate in house experience. 
• Medical device, life sciences,  and/or health care experience 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

• This is a hybrid position, with at least 50% time in office (Palo Alto, CA) 
• Ability to speak, write, and use all office equipment including scanner and printer, phone, computer, etc. 
• Can work remotely on a regular basis and is expected to travel as needed.
