Senior Paralegal, Trademark

San Mateo, CA (Hybrid)

PlayStation is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join its Global Trademark team. This person will support PlayStation’s large global trademark portfolio and intellectual property initiatives, including U.S. and international trademark clearance, filing, prosecution, and maintenance work.

• Instruct, docket, and manage trademark filings worldwide
• Conduct trademark database searches and common law searches and prepare clearance report for attorney review
• Correspond with foreign trademark agents and docket and maintain files
• Correspond with business teams concerning trademark clearance and other matters
• Prepare US trademark prosecution and maintenance filings for attorney review, including applications and renewals
• Assist with conflict matters, including managing evidence and documents for trademark oppositions and cancellations and domain disputes
• Prepare Powers of Attorney and coordinate legalization and notarization
• Prepare and prosecute copyright applications
• Provide guidance internally regarding proper use of trademarks
• Review product documentation for trademark use and intellectual property notices
• Assist in trademark process improvements and development of process documentation

• 8+ years of experience as a trademark paralegal with high-level responsibilities on a global trademark portfolio
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Highly thorough and strong proofreading skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to consistently plan, prioritize, work independently, think critically, meet deadlines, and remain flexible in a multi-task environment
• General knowledge of domestic and foreign trademark law, policies, and processes
• Proficiency with MS Office products, particularly MS Word and Excel, and with intellectual property docketing software
