Managing Director, Financial Services Enterprise Risk Management    

We are looking for a seasoned leader within the Banking industry with a focus on Enterprise Risk Management to help lead that offering for our growing Financial Services Practice. The Partner will play an active role on the firm wide Financial Services leadership team in addition to his/her role on their geographic team. He/she will be expected to help build, retain, and grow a team of geographic and National clients and employees specializing in banking and risk operations. This role entails significant responsibility in developing new business, developing practice offerings, and managing the client relationship at the executive levels while providing direction and oversight to project teams. Most importantly, candidates should be enthusiastic about what they do and enjoy a fun, entrepreneurial environment.

What will you be doing?

Partners at West Monroe have three primary areas of responsibility:

Business Development

  • Cultivate new and existing client business development opportunities for the Financial Services practice
  • Significant generation of weekly prospecting/networking activities (events, meetings, phone calls, emails) in the pursuit of new client acquisition and brand awareness
  • Originate and manage business development opportunities and sales cycle with prospective clients
  • Actively build a professional network and affiliate network in the local community
  • Actively participate in relevant organizations within the Banking Industry
  • Exceptional understanding of clients’ business needs turning those goals into concrete projects and detailed proposals
  • Lead development of proposals, work plans, pricing estimates, and risk assessments for project prospects

Practice Development

  • Ability to create effective go-to-market strategies while driving the development/enhancement of WMP’s Banking practice methodologies, best practices, and approaches to client delivery
  • Ability to lead, mentor and grow consultants and actively participate in the performance management process
  • Participate actively in the recruiting process for additional practice managers and consultants
  • Develop and lead knowledge transfer sessions to organically grow enterprise risk management knowledge within the practice
  • Entrepreneurial desire and selflessness to give your time, energy, and passion to growing the firm’s culture and our people both inside and outside of office hours

Client Delivery

  • Lead engagements by communicating and reporting project status to C-level executives and IT management, including budget, risks, issues, etc.
  • Report project budget and finances both internally and for clients
  • Mentor and manage teams of younger consultants to ensure quality of delivery and to keep projects on time and budget
  • Quickly respond to client requests for immediate issues while also being able to drive projects to completion
  • Analyze each client’s specific request, determine the underlying problem, and recommend proper solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience required
  • 15+ years of banking industry experience, with a focus on Enterprise Risk specifically within the middle market ($20-$300B in assets) clients focusing on processes, systems, and technology
  • Solid experience with Enterprise Risk Solutions, and Banking Technology (e.g., GRC and ERM tools, and other risk systems and tools)
  • Evaluate firm and project risk considering the impact of risk on strategy potential opportunities, and planning and execution to reflect enterprise-wide needs
  • Has experience developing and implementing enterprise level risk programs, leading enterprise risk assessments, remediating MRAs and other regulatory actions, and designing overall target operating models for enterprise risk organizations.
  • Should have a POV on the future of risk management at banks and how banks can creatively manage and scale this critical area in the future
  • Must have been part of a relevant consulting group or practice in the local market in the past 3 years
  • Strong business development and an active professional network of contacts in the local market
  • Membership and visibility in relevant professional organizations
  • Strong project management methodology background, including schedule, scope, issue, and risk management experience, change management, strategic planning, and analysis
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 40%+ is required

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role is $380-480K and can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here.  Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity
