Senior Partner Operations Manager

The Global Network Strategy & Operations (GNSO) team is responsible for developing partnerships that produce mutually beneficial results for Marqeta and our strategic partner organizations.  GNSO plays a vital role to identify opportunities and make them a reality.  Key to this role will be deep understanding the network landscape, payments processing and an ability to align internal and external stakeholders.  You’ll be collaborating closely with the Marqeta extended team, including Business Development, Customer Success, Delivery, Finance, Revenue, Product, Compliance, Legal and Technology.

Marqeta is looking for a Senior Manager who is an influential leader that collaborates cross functionally to gain alignment and builds strong relationships with our network partners. The Senior Manager will thrive in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for finding a way to deliver for our customers and stakeholders.

This role will focus on managing the operational relationship with our network partners, including managing a team to help support and drive that function (assessing and managing network updates and releases, rule adherence and operationalizing network products/services). This role requires a strategic mindset and influencer who can drive initiatives both internally and externally. You have an opportunity for tremendous impact as we scale the business.

• Solid understanding of network rules, products and processes
• Assess network updates, engage with key stakeholders to prioritize and address opportunities
• Engage with external network subject matter experts to provide clarity on network rules, products and/or processes
• Manage team requests, drive resolution, and ensure accountability (internally & externally)
• Provide thought leadership to optimize network opportunities
• Identify, develop and present network KPI data & dashboards
• Develop and drive new/improved processes  
• Elevate messaging about networks across Marqeta
• Create a supportive environment to enable team members to do their best work

In addition to the ability to influence and drive strategy from an operational perspective, we’re looking for the following attributes:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years experience in payments at Processor or Payment Network
• At least 2 years of people management experience
• Knowledge of Visa and/or Mastercard rules, products and processes
• Navigate beyond ambiguity to drive quality improvements
• Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams
• Operates as an owner and drives accountability 
• Highly motivated and able to work against aggressive timelines
• Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high-quality deliverables
• Strong communication skills (interpersonal, verbal, presentation, written)
• Ability to travel occasionally, less than 10%
