Senior Pavement Engineer 2

ARA is seeking experienced pavement engineers to work full-time for our Transportation Infrastructure Division office in Champaign, IL. Remote work may be available for the ideal candidate.

Our pavement engineers are actively involved in all aspects of the profession, which includes problem solving, using subject matter knowledge and innovation to offer high-quality solutions to our clients, marketing to bring in new business, and writing high-quality proposals.

Travel is required for business development purposes, and this position may also require travel to project sites and on-site work at client offices. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for badging/access to project sites.

What you will do as a senior pavement engineer:

• Serve as a subject matter expert in pavement engineering, including pavement design, condition assessment, and pavement management.
• Participate in and lead writing proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs and other solicitations. Must be able to effectively lead the proposal team in meeting all requirements.
• Perform business development tasks to grow your professional network, provide technical presentations at conferences/local area meetings and for potential clients, etc.
• Lead project execution as a project manager/technical advisor. Work with your project team and other project managers to execute project work, including pavement design, pavement testing and analysis, and database management.
• Work with technical staff to complete field work in professional manner with attention to accurate and complete reporting.
• Ensure on-schedule project delivery, on budget, and interface with others to resolve any challenges.
• Represent yourself, your coworkers, and ARA with professionalism and integrity in all dealings with colleagues and clients.

Senior pavement engineer 2 requirements:

• MS or higher in Civil Engineering, from an ABET-accredited/recognized institution.
• 10+ years of experience in pavement engineering practice, such as pavement management and analysis of pavement condition survey data. Experience with commercial pavement management & analysis software, specification development a plus.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Proven record of successful project development and management, with a project portfolio of at least $500,000/year.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
• Experience in programming languages, database development, and/or GIS a plus.

Anticipated salary range: $100,000 to $135,000. Offer may vary depending on experience, skill set, and location.
