JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Payroll Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of the payroll for the Company. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within a team and also work independently. This position will need to develop an understanding of the nuances of payroll for each country. In this role you will partner with our third-party payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely processing of all necessary payments to employees, taxing agencies and other third-party payees. In addition, this position supports external audits regarding payroll related matters and has an in-depts knowledge of payroll systems, tax and time reporting requirements, create and process all payroll journal entries, and perform all payroll reconciliations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support accurate and timely input and payroll processing and recordkeeping of all payrolls - Domestic and Global.
- Maintain payroll sheets with changes that will be submitted to each third party payroll vendor monthly for global payroll processing.
- Work closely with the Accounts Payable and Treasury teams to make sure payroll is funded accurately each month.
- Act as a lead point of contact for international payroll and accurately resolve payroll issues and/or discrepancies; research, troubleshoot and respond to a wide range of inquiries related to the global payroll.
- Perform all payroll analysis and account reconciliation, generate ad hoc reports and actively participate with special projects.
- Monitor all global payroll deadlines and payroll tasks.
- Prepare monthly reports and provide monthly payroll data in journal entry format to finance.
- Maintain payroll policies, keeping them up to date and writing any new procedures as required.
- Provide support to Finance and HR with any audit related questions and all payroll related activities.
- Assist with future expansions of global payrolls and related research.
- Backup and review for US payroll.
- Assist with the reconciliation of Federal, State, and international payroll taxes, quarterly/annual employer tax returns, and year end W2's.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the fundamental knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the job successfully:
- 3-5 years of General Accounting Experience and/or working payroll knowledge and experience with in-house management, and or outsourcing of payroll processing for a multi-company, multi-state, multi-national fast paced, ever changing environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with a keen focus on achieving critical deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- A keen focus on payroll analytics, forward thinking, process driven, and audit oriented.
- Advanced Computer and Microsoft Excel skills including v-lookups and pivot tables.
- Familiarity with multi-state wage and hour laws and payroll related IRS regulations.
- Experience with collaborating (participating and providing) payroll support during internal and external payroll audits.
- Good working knowledge of payroll journal mapping/entries and reconciliation to payroll outputs.
- Demonstrates competence in performing under pressure with attention to detail while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Proficiency in ADP, ADP Streamline or similar payroll systems.
- Must be able to perform independently and in a team environment.
- Candidate must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing general office duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening and reading, able to lift light objects (< 25lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computer, printer, phone and cell phone. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist or stoop in order to open/close cabinets, reach for files or other standard office type objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The office environment is generally quiet and, in a temperature, controlled setting with random adjustments in noise or temperature due to others talking or laughing loudly, unscheduled maintenance repairs to the building or its interior offices or unpredictable situations due to weather or other acts beyond company control. An employee must be willing to work their regularly assigned work schedule for their particular duties and/or job responsibilities and in times of need, be able to work an extended schedule depending on company/department needs, project requirements or customer demands. Some overnight travel may be required to facilitate work objectives. While at client site locations, if applicable, employee will be required to adhere to the proper safety precautions established by the client while in proximity to their work area, flight-line or maintenance repair center; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The temperature at client locations can vary from controlled to variations off hot/cold when working, standing or walking in or near the flight-line or maintenance repair center.

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $75,000-$80,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. SD also offers a variety of benefits including: health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
