The Sr. Payroll Analyst processes the company's payroll, provides timely and accurate financial information and manages the process of all taxes and deductions in accordance with established practices and guidelines.
What you'll do
- Collect, compile and enter payroll data using payroll (UKG Pro) software.
- Final Audit of Payroll Specialist Time processes, including overtime worked, and PTO requests. Ensure file imports/exports are completed.
- Calculate and post payroll deductions, process payroll by established deadlines and reconcile employee deductions.
- Handle garnishments, IRS levies, and other court orders.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors.
- Utilize subject matter expertise, critical thinking, and knowledge to make independent decisions and determinations, following Quantum Health workflows.
- Prepare and print payroll reports of earnings, hours worked, taxes, insurance, leave and ad hoc requests for business, finance, and auditors, as needed.
- Address employee pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Assist with establishing SUI and SIT accounts with State and Local Agencies, as Quantum expands the business throughout the US.
- Understand and resolve any general ledger reconciling issues related to payroll, including reconciliation of payroll tax accounts.
- Assist in providing guidance and training to Payroll Specialist.
- Identify business process opportunities and collaborate with payroll team to implement.
- Serve as backup to lead all aspects of payroll processing when the Manager, Payroll is away from work.
- All other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring
- Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience
- Experience processing payroll in an established HR Management system (UKG Pro a plus)
- Training experience to assist with educating Payroll Specialist as needed
- Extreme attention to detail, multi-tasking, and dedication to meeting deadlines
- Proficient at Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll processes
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- Ability to make decisions that are timely and that achieve results consistent with business goals and organizational culture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data to make recommendations or decisions
- Works independently with limited need for daily supervision
- Aptitude to research and identify issues using critical thinking
- Demonstrates curiosity and a solution-oriented approach to achieving results
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and effectively adapt to a fast-paced changing environment
- Protect and take care of our company and member's data every day by committing to work within our company ethics and policies
- Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.
