This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Payroll Associate, Indian Payroll in India.

This role is a key part of a global payroll operations function, responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for employees under Indian payroll structures. You will manage end-to-end payroll activities while maintaining strict adherence to local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal compliance standards. The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams and supporting employees with payroll-related queries in a fast-paced, fully remote environment. You will also contribute to improving payroll processes and ensuring data accuracy across systems. As a senior individual contributor, you will play a key role in guiding junior team members and strengthening operational excellence. Accountabilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees under Indian payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Maintain, validate, and reconcile employee payroll data, including salaries, attendance, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Support Indian payroll tax calculations, filings, and compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Respond to employee queries related to payroll, resolving issues with accuracy and a service-oriented approach.
  • Ensure payroll records are consistently updated and aligned with internal systems and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless payroll execution and data integrity.
  • Guide and support junior team members while contributing to process improvements and operational best practices.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 3–5 years of experience in payroll operations, preferably with strong exposure to Indian payroll processes.
    • Strong understanding of Indian payroll laws, tax structures, and statutory compliance requirements.
    • Hands-on experience with payroll data reconciliation, calculations, and reporting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
    • Strong attention to detail with high levels of accuracy in handling sensitive data.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support employees and collaborate across teams.
    • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members is a plus.
