Ibotta is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our growing Human Resources, People Operations Team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding.
What you will be doing:
The Senior Payroll Specialist is the lead payroll subject-matter-expert in the company. Reporting to the Director, People Operations, this role is accountable for all aspects of the payroll process and plays the critical role in processing and administering payroll in our Workday HCM, integrated with ADP. The ideal candidate has independently run all things payroll at a fast-growing, dynamic company.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the processing of new hires, promotions, and terminations in an accurate and timely manner
Lead multi-state payroll processing for all employees (exempt & non-exempt) on a bi-weekly basis; including garnishments, flexible time off (FTO), bonuses, benefits, 401K deductions, and the reconciliation of time entry related payroll
Work closely with accounting to ensure the accurate and timely posting of journal entries from the payroll system
Assure payroll information is accurate through review, audit, and completion of all payroll reconciliations on a bi-weekly basis
Leverage Workday Payroll reporting to perform comprehensive payroll audits to ensure accurate processing
Assist accounting with month-end close reconciliations and fluctuation analysis related to salary accounts
Partner with Finance to provide estimated payroll funding and/or other payroll/finance reporting requirementsÂ
Perform administrative tasks and enhancements for Ibotta’s equity program
Critically review and analyze current payroll, benefits, and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operationsÂ
Own the technical set-up and accurate maintenance of Workday Payroll, including successful integrations, benefits, wages and FTO plans
Act as a mentor to other people operations team members in their area of expertise
Facilitate a strong working relationship with ADP (or other system vendors) to ensure scope of services is being upheld with regard to compliance and reporting of local, state and federal requirements
Own the registration process for new state tax compliance
Provide continuous process improvement to the payroll cycle to allow for efficient processingLeads special projects, as needed, and stay abreast of industry trends
Job Requirements:
3-5+ years of payroll experience required; with at least 2 years experience as an in-house payroll processor
Day-to-day, operational experience with Workday Payroll and ADP required; any legacy payroll systems preferred but not required
CPP preferredÂ
Interest in cutting-edge, continually evolving technology systems designed to improve administration, accuracy and timely business processing
Demonstrated ability to multitask, be a self-starter, detail oriented, and provide excellent customer service
Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, investigate, and identify Workday Payroll and integration system issues to resolution
Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including report writing skills and Workday reports
Able to organize and write policies and procedures in a logical/methodical manner
Strategic thinker for a growing organization
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
Experience in benefit administration or other HRIS administration is a plusÂ
Experience with employee stock programs is a plus
Additional Details:
This position is located in Denver, CO or remotely and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, profit sharing and equity
Base compensation range: $70,000 - $90,000
