Senior Payroll Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process semi-monthly, multi state payroll for exempt and non-exempt pay groups
Manage HRIS workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
Reconcile and validate payroll data prior to transmission
 Process bonus and commission payments and manual checks
Responsible for computing, withholding, and deductions associated with net earnings
Assist with processing accurate and timely year-end reporting (W2 & W2-c)
 Preparation & reconciliation of benefit plans deductions including flexi-commuter, HSA, 401k
Process benefit premium and deduction files
Assist with month end process (Headcount, SF Tax accrual, PTO Liability Reporting)
Assist with conversions and implementations
Respond to employee questions and troubleshoot issues related to payroll
Assist the Payroll Tax Compliance with managing tax compliance notices.
Daily administration of payroll tax activities (Federal, State, and Local withholdings) for all entities to ensure all jurisdictions and states are set up correctly for new hires, address, and work location changes.
Perform other tasks as needed
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Strong skills with Microsoft Office computer software applications in word, excel, and email communication
Working knowledge of payroll best practices
Strong knowledge of Federal and State regulations
Working knowledge of time and attendance systems
General understanding of employee and employer proper taxation and employer paid benefit plans
Strong work ethic and team player
High degree of professionalism
Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
Ability to communicate with various levels of management
Decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills
Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
·       Minimum of 5 years’ experience with multi state payroll
·       Five plus years’ experience with ADP Workforce Now required.
·       CPP preferred
Target compensation for these roles in the US are $75,000-78,000 and we anticipate hiring within this salary target.
