Job Description
Overview:Â
We are currently looking for a Senior Planner, Strategy to support the day-to-day Media Planning and Strategy function, aiding in the development, execution, and stewardship of media plans for assigned client’s business. This position will also mentor junior staff members in day to day activities and reports directly to the Supervisor/AMD, Strategy.
Role Objectives:Â
- Responsible for contributing to the development of and executing strategy for the functional areaÂ
- Develop media strategy and recommendations under supervisor guidanceÂ
- Present media plans and provide plan maintenance including objectives/strategies and updatesÂ
- Maintain stewardship of reports including competitive analysis using Strategy software to assess media schedules of competitors, interpret data and draw conclusionsÂ
- Prepare flowcharts and budgets for media plan development and maintenanceÂ
- Prepare and issue buying specs and guidelines to buyers including delivery goals and budgets for use in negotiationsÂ
- Review and verify media buys to ensure proper executionÂ
- Meet with vendor community to analyze value and applicability of media channels for client media planÂ
Qualifications
- B.A. or B.S., preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in media planning/strategy
- Agency experience highly preferred
- Computer Skills/Software Knowledge: Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, comScore, Prisma, Mbox, MRI/GfK, GWIÂ
- Strong knowledge of cross-channel media, with a drive for curiosity and passion for client’s businessÂ
- Demonstrate ability to learn new propriety software and processes quickly and proficientlyÂ
- Solid written and verbal skills, with ability to present to clients, maintain client correspondence and internal documentationÂ
- Detail-oriented, good follow through, able to multi-task, and work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Meet client and internal deadlines and obligationsÂ
- Manage projects, resources, stakeholders, and participantsÂ
- Be a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems/issuesÂ
Additional Information
This is a hybrid position working 3 days per week in our temporary Birmingham, MI location. This position will move to our permanent location in downtown Detroit when the office opens, with the same 3 days per week hybrid schedule.
