Senior Platform Engineer

To meet the aim of decarbonising the heavy haulage industry First Mode is looking for talented OT deployment engineer on a Temporary 6-12 Month temporary employee or for temporary employment to help deliver a suite of Data and Insights products to be used both by First Mode internally, as well as our customers. 

These Data and Insights products include, but are not limited to:

• Acquiring data in real-time from First Mode powerplants and associated hydrogen production/storage systems
• Analysing both real-time and batch data in a computationally constrained environment, providing insights to operators
• Integration with on-site systems to ensure that upgraded haulage vehicles can be used safely and efficiently in a changing environment
• Developing, maintaining and managing software on site and in the cloud for generation of insights related to fleet, site and facilities information.

Position Responsibilities

• Work with the Data and Insights software development team as an individual contributor to:
  • Implement the software and tooling that supports deployment of custom application code and shared services (for example: databases, identity providers, API gateways) to customer sites.
  • Support customization and configuration of deployments on a site-by-site basis.
  • Provide support for customer deployments.
• Work with customer IT/OT representatives to gain approval to operate in conjunction with the Deployment team.
• Work with Data and Insights and other Software teams in First Mode to provide support for First Mode AWS workloads, providing expert advice and recommendations on usage.
• Contribute to the product definition, design, and supporting processes for a new, greenfields product.
• Represent the team as a stakeholder within a multidisciplinary team, from system formulation through design, build and test

Basic Qualifications

• 2-5 years experience in a similar role
• Experience developing deployment infrastructure using VMWare technologies (VSphere 8)
• Experience developing deployment infrastructure using common AWS services.
• Experience with infrastructure automation (terraform, chef, puppet etc.) and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools
• Experience developing commercial software in an Agile environment in a variety of languages
• A demonstrated ability to work with engineers of different disciplines to meet a shared objective

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering a B2B SaaS software product
• Previous mining experience is a benefit
• Experience with C# / ASP.NET development.
• Experience with the configuration of databases, networks, public-key infrastructure, and API gateways.

Location

• This position will be located at First Mode’s headquarters in Seattle, WA and will be required to work in office >60% of working hours

Total Rewards

Base Salary Range: $137,000- $191,500

      ROLE I: $137,000 - $173,000

      ROLE II: $151,000 - $191,500
