Amadeus Hospitality is looking for self-starting, motivated, and technically astute candidates with good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude for systems implementation of mid-to-large enterprise solutions. Platform Engineering is responsible for working closely with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to ensure efficient and effective run-time availability of platforms and services while maintaining a high level of performance. Managing escalations and providing technical training and mentorship for the team is expected. The ability to work in a cross-functional development and operations environment with a focus on systems design, management, and monitoring is key to success. This position involves representing management and refining projects into actionable work within a technical team

In this role you will:

• Facilitate implementation of new platforms following DevOps best practices, platform orchestration and deployment, and Infrastructure-As-Code

• Participate in the building of tools and processes to support public cloud infrastructure and platforms

• Migrate applications from on-premises data centers into Microsoft Azure

• Provide fact-based troubleshooting and triage incidents to determine root-cause

• Perform systems analysis for use-case validation and verification

• Develop and maintain processes for recoverability, fail-over, disaster recovery, and business continuity

• Manage backup, recovery, and retention of customer data according to contractual and functional requirements

• Support Availability, RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) objectives and devise strategies for improvement

• Document and deliver operational focused monitoring, reporting, and technical training

• Contribute to overall deployment process improvement with a focus on service reliability

• Participate in systems design with other team members and software architects

• Encourage shared and common design practices

• Provide technical escalation support across the multiple platforms, liaise with development, support, infrastructure, and security as required

• Provide technical direction and clarification of requirements to software agile development teams, integration, and testing staff by contributing content to Features, Stories, Product Backlog Items, or Tasks

About the ideal candidate:

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Platform Engineering, Release Engineering, or similar experience

• Relevant four-year degree or equivalent work experience

• Strong Technical Writing skill at or above 50 words-per-minute

• Demonstrated area of expertise and proficiency (plus) in multiple technical areas, based on experience, goals, and projects.

• Proficiency in cloud platforms and infrastructure, CI/CD technologies, and history of partnership with Operations to improve and enhance processes.

• Obtained, or working toward, advanced technical certification in areas of cloud platform, infrastructure, or similar. Examples, Windows Server MCSA/MCSE, Azure Solutions Architect

• Can design or identify performance metrics for distributed systems and applications.

• Can configure and tune application/container/cloud/infrastructure resources to scale up/down based on results.

• Working knowledge of SQL Server and/or other relational or non-relational data-tier systems

• Working knowledge of full-stack networking and systems, including but not limited to, OSI Network Model, Layer 4 and Layer 7 firewalling and traffic manipulation
