Senior Platform Engineer

Our Product team at UpGuard comprises our Product Management Product Support Engineering Design Data Leaks Detection and Third Party Risk Management Services. Our Product team’s vision is to become the leader in the Cyber VRM category by providing a best-in-class SaaS platform for organizations to manage their third-party risk and external attack surface. Our purpose as a Product team is simply to build a product that enables this. We aim to build a product that users love and come to rely on and one that regularly and consistently improves.

Where does this role fit in?

The Platform Engineer will support our growing team of software engineers owning our infrastructure and operations. As our first dedicated hire in this space you will have the opportunity to drive the direction of our development platform and infrastructure. The role will focus on driving improvements automation and refining processes to enhance reliability while responsibility for production stability will continue to be shared by the wider engineering team.

What will you do?

• Design build and maintain scalable production infrastructure on Google Cloud.

• Collaborate with developers to optimize development workflows and drive best practices.

• Lead infrastructure automation and maintain a security-first approach to cloud architecture.

• Ensure robust observability through monitoring logging and alerting systems and workflows.

What will you bring?

• Strong experience in IaC (preferably Terraform) on a cloud platform.

• A software engineering background.

• Understanding of security best practices in cloud infrastructure.

• Demonstrated ability to drive culture and best practices within cross-functional teams.

• Experience with containerization Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.

• Hands-on experience with optimizing cost efficiency in cloud environments.

• Experience building local development environments.

• Strong experience in backend development particularly in Go.
