Senior Platform Engineer

What You'll Do

Epic Games is expanding its operations within our Tech Services organization to support the development and operations of core Epic products; including Fortnite and Unreal Engine. We’re seeking a results-oriented Senior Platform Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in building platforms, including our internal build infrastructure, our cloud based studio platform, and our client device lab, that enhance developer productivity and the overall developer experience for everyone at Epic.

In this role, you will

• Design and implement hybrid cloud infrastructure to support multiple game development pipelines, including optimizing build processes for flagship titles like Fortnite and enhancing the scalability of our cloud based build infrastructure
• Partner closely with our Unreal Engine, Fortnite, and other 1st party development teams to design and deploy scalable build and development infrastructure platforms
• Design systems that cleanly integrate with both legacy and emerging technologies, ensuring seamless operation across all platforms
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers on the team, fostering a collaborative environment of continuous improvement and innovation
• Lead and influence the architectural design of systems by validating solutions, determining quality, and adhering to repeatable standards
• Provide escalation-level troubleshooting and timely resolution of system, network, and infrastructure problems to ensure uninterrupted operations

What we're looking for

• Design systems that cleanly integrate with both legacy and emerging technologies, ensuring seamless operation across all platforms

• Preference for candidates with proficiency in Go or .NET, demonstrated philosophy of automating your way out of repetitive operational work
• Preference for candidates with experience with REST API services, and cross-system integrations, experience with and deep understanding of of Agile methodologies
• Proven history working directly with development teams
