Role Mission:

We’re significantly expanding our Engineering team to address our ambitious product goals. As a leader in our Platform Engineering team, you’ll drive projects to transform the underlying infrastructure and core systems of the platform and enable the growing engineering team. 

What You'll Do:

• Function as a technical lead on a variety of Platform projects, including but not limited to:
• Infrastructure design & maintenance
• Microservices system architecture
• Observability & metrics analysis to expose performance bottlenecks and inform redesign or refactoring efforts
• Processes & tooling to enable CI/CD
• Lead and participate in ongoing SRE operations & on-call duties
• Define and recommend software engineering best practices and technical standards for optimal stability as well as security in production environments
• Share your experience and knowledge by mentoring other engineers

Who You Are:

• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience
• Proven ability in serving as a technical lead on large platform infrastructure projects
• Experience and desire to lead other engineers, with at least one or two direct reports
• Knowledge of and experience in designing & maintaining cloud native systems
• Knowledge of and experience in SRE strategies
• Exposure to and familiarity with DevOps best practices
• Familiarity with core RDBMS concepts
• Understanding of core Java programming concepts
• Comfortable with the Linux command line and shell scripting

• Experience with GCP
• Experience with MySQL
• Experience in modernizing and transitioning monolithic applications

• Post-mortems for all incidents you are named as a participant. (Attend / Own)
• Retrospectives for any projects you are a part of. (Attend / Own)
• All sprint, scrum, or planning meetings for projects that you are directly involved in. (Attend / Own)
