Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Engine squad at the Consumer vertical on our journey to always deliver amazing experiences. 

At Delivery Hero, you’ll shape the global consumer experience for millions of users. Your work will have a direct impact on how we attract and retain customers, creating data-driven, personalized interactions that keep them coming back. As part of our Consumer Team, you’ll enhance customer satisfaction and drive global growth and profitability through innovative projects.

In this role you will:

• Be responsible for building highly scalable, reliable, low-latency/near real time serving and cost efficient data infrastructure. As well as, experience and improve high throughput data streaming services. 

• Work next to engineering teams to ensure the operational success of our production deployments and internal systems.

• Design highly scalable infrastructure, automate continuous integration and deployments, and collaborate closely with engineering teams extending a globally distributed cloud-based infrastructure

• Advocate system design principles and a general DevOps mindset in our engineering teams.

• Perform on-going reviews of our application and infrastructure code to improve software performance

• Create proofs of concepts with new technologies and drive innovation in our Customer Data Products infrastructure

Qualifications

• Solid DevOps experience building Infrastructure as code.

• Strong coding experience with Python and/or Go.

• Experience in working with and/or managing - Distributed Systems, Streaming and Batch data pipelines.

• Experience integrating and automating security measures into development, CI/CD processes, and scaling production environments.

• Experience in developing, deploying, and supporting services-based enterprise cloud solutions on AWS and/or GCP using Kubernetes.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Linux, Git, Docker, Helm, GithubActions, ArgoCD.

• Experience with observability / monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus.

• Passionate professional with excellent analytical and Problem solving in a rapidly growing data organization with a focus on performance optimization, reliability, and availability.

• Experience with configuring and deploying self-managed systems and services.

Nice To Have

• Experience with GCP is a plus.

• Experience in JVM based languages.

• Familiarity with managed database services like DynamoDB, RDS, BigQuery.

• Familiarity with streaming services like AWS Kinesis & Apache Flink.

• Experience in architecting and deploying service mesh and discovery tools like Istio, Consul etc.
