About the role

As a Senior Platform Security Engineer on the Cloud Infrastructure team, you will be part of an innovative and dynamic team that ensures the security of our Galaxy offering. In this role, you will partner closely with our Security and Engineering teams on security architecture and implementation decisions. You will also act as a go-to resource for customer calls where you will have the opportunity to speak to Galaxy’s security posture and help instill customer’s confidence in our platform architecture and design.

As a Senior Platform Security Engineer at Starburst you will:

• Identify and remediate security findings at all layers of the stack
• Codify security controls into Infrastructure as Code
• Maintain proper perimeter security (WAF / DDoS controls)
• SSL cert implementation and management
• Provide and implement security application and platform recommendations
• Participate in customer-facing calls to help instill confidence in Galaxy’s architecture and security posture

Some of the things we look for:

• 5+ years of experience in platform security, preferably in a SaaS environment
• Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Java, GoLang, TypeScript, or Python with a strong preference for Java
• Experience interacting with customers and customers' security teams
• Strong sense of ownership and proactiveness
• A team player willing to contribute across multiple teams and projects

• United States, preference for the East Coast
