Senior Policy Communications Manager

Affirm's Senior Manager of Policy Communications will lead communications efforts for a variety of policy-related initiatives and programs. This person will work cross functionally with Communications, Government Relations, Legal, & Social Impact to embed communications into policy focused workstreams. You will report into Communications, and work in a dotted line capacity cross-functionally. You should have a strong grasp of the U.S. and global political landscape and the intersection of policy and technology. Experience with credit, financial services, and/or public policy is a plus. In addition, you are passionate about communications, and can act as a creative problem-solver with an affinity for details, policy, and delivering results. This role is ideal for someone who possesses an outstanding work ethic, a positive demeanor, and thrives in a fast-paced and high-growth organization! In addition, this person should have the ability to distill policy issues and Affirm's perspective on those issues.
What you'll do

• Lead communications activities on relevant policy issues pertinent to Affirm's business
• Craft a wide range of communications materials including blog posts, communications plans, fact sheets, statements, press releases and briefing materials for executives
• Develop and pitch stories related to Affirm's policies, practices, and procedures
• Collaborate with our Government Relations, Communications, Legal, Product, and Operations teams to build, understand and communicate on policies that support and protect consumers and our reputation
• Build programs that help educate key constituents that are relevant to Affirm
• Nurture new and existing relationships with policy media, trade and advocacy associations
• Lead our efforts to build communities within our consumer and merchant network
• Partner with the broader CSR and Social Impact team to support a comprehensive ESG strategy

What we look for

• At least 10 years of experience working in policy communications and/or public affairs at a high-profile public company or agency in the financial or technology industries, or the public sector
• Experience juggling multiple due-dates on intricate, critical issues
• Expertise in distilling sophisticated policy or technology concepts into plain language
• Skilled at managing cross-functional partner relations in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly comprehend and break down complex topics into easily-digestible, succinct talking points
• Demonstrated organizational experience and attention to detail
• Demonstrated analytical-thinking and problem-solving experience
• Proven track record of delivering positive outcomes
• Ability to work on both strategy and execution
