Senior Principal Corporate Strategy Analyst

Your role in helping us shape the future:
In this role, you will play an integral role as part of the Corporate Strategy team, leading high impact projects to support the company's transformation and expansion. The Corporate Strategy team supports all Intelsat business units and leads numerous efforts across the organization focusing on, but not limited to, Market Intelligence, Analytics, Corporate Growth & Business Development, and Strategic Planning. As an individual contributor, part of the Corporate Strategy team, you will assist Management to formulate, develop, and communicate Intelsat's Corporate Strategy across the organization. You will lead major work streams to help the company solve business challenges, create value, facilitate transformative growth and monitor business performance. This position is a key internal thought leader for the organization, with an advanced level of executive support, and influence extending across the company. You will support the continued development of our Growth Portfolio and the Strategy Map to support the company's expansion goals.
Are you up to the challenge?

• Build and own business cases in support of key decisions and growth opportunities. (Business cases include market research and assessment, risk assessment, financial appraisal and sensitivity analysis, cost-benefit analysis, core competency analysis and go-to-market recommendations).
• On an ad-hoc basis, support the due diligence process including financial and market analysis, pro-forma cash flow projections, and review third party reports
• On an ad-hoc basis, support corporate development and Treasury teams in financial analysis, liquidity projections, and leverage projections, as necessary, for management presentations
• On an ad-hoc basis, train Treasury team members in debt compliance matters
• On an ad-hoc basis, assist with financial analysis related to the C-band clearing project
• Complete strategic financial benchmarking studies
• Drive informed decision-making within our organization through analysis of financial information and presentation of commercial KPIs
• Ability to work with complex financial models
• Develop domain expertise in several of Intelsat's market segments. Contribute to the larger market intelligence process by providing advice on current market trends that impact the business, in order to competitively define development and expansion goals
• Prepare management committee, board of directors and investor presentations
• Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on core strategic issues and generate creative, action-oriented insights and recommendations
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance etc. in developing, go-to-market strategy business plans around new product and service offerings
• Lead cross functional corporate strategy initiatives and projects including third party consultants and align resources with established priorities to achieve business objectives and ensure stakeholders are consulted and informed throughout the process
• Deliver information and reports, as necessary, for the filing of financial statements
• Support corporate development and investor relations initiatives

You should definitely have:

• Bachelor's Degree (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the stated minimum education and experience requirements), MBA preferred
• Minimum of ten (10) years of analytical work experience in a corporate environment, consulting or banking
• Experience reading complex document (e.g., credit agreements, intercompany agreements) and ability to summarize effectively in writing
• Experience with financial statement analysis and projection
• Good understanding of technical model development and model validation
• Some knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and ability to work with a high degree of detail orientation, and accuracy and prioritize tasks in high pressure performance environment. Advanced PowerPoint skills
• Self-starter attitude, energy, and the ability to handle multiple complex projects in a team environment while communicating across business and technical disciplines
• Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills
• This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).

It would be nice if you had:

• Relevant experience in telecom, media or technology industry
• Experience with one or more major data visualization tools including Tableau/QuickSight/Power BI etc.
• Experience in the satellite industry is optional
