With a strong commitment to research, collaboration, and cutting-edge advancements, we are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Innovation Portfolio Manager within the Technology Research & Innovation Team (TRI).

Position Overview

The IT Innovation Portfolio Director is responsible for leading and overseeing our organization's IT innovation initiatives. The Innovation Portfolio Director will play a crucial role in driving innovation, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the successful execution of projects within the innovation portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive innovation portfolio strategy and operational framework aligned with the organization's overall business objectives. Partner with the IT Innovation leadership to identify and prioritize innovative ideas and projects that have the potential to create value and drive business growth.
  • Data Analytics, Business Case and Insight Generation: Take a leadership building business case to support technology innovation initiatives. Conduct data analysis and generate insights based on internal and external data.
  • Idea Generation and Evaluation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to source, generate, and evaluate / prioritize new ideas and concepts. Partnering with TRI leadership to ensure the team has conducted thorough market research, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to assess the viability and potential impact of proposed innovations.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the entire innovation portfolio, including project selection, resource allocation, and progress tracking and reporting. Maintain a clear view of the innovation pipeline and make data-driven decisions to optimize resource allocation and project prioritization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, strategy, product teams, and external partners, to foster a culture of innovation and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Project Execution: Support the execution of innovation projects from concept to commercialization. Provide guidance and mentorship to innovation project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet predefined success criteria.
  • Communication and Training: Develop and implement effective communication strategies to promote awareness of the innovation portfolio's goals, progress, and outcomes. Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate teams on the innovation framework, methodologies, and best practices to help drive innovation from within DTCC.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges associated with innovation projects. Develop contingency plans and adapt strategies as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of innovation projects. Regularly monitor and report on project progress, outcomes, and lessons learned.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by fostering a learning environment, promoting experimentation, and implementing best practices for innovation management.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in innovation management, new product development, or related roles.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Possess a deep understanding of data and data models, coupled with the ability to leverage analytics to drive informed decision-making processes.
  • Excel in driving business case development, using their proficiency in data to formulate strategic decisions that align with the organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, market trends, and industry best practices in innovation.
  • Proficiency in innovation management software and tools is a plus.
