Senior Principal Software Engineer

The OSS Platforms team is charged with managing the full lifecycle of a suite of tools that play a crucial role in supporting Intelsat's Global Network, which includes 50 satellites, a global terrestrial MPLS network with 20 PoPs around the world, connecting 18 teleports/data centers. These tools are integral to our Engineering and Operations teams as they strive to deliver world-class support to our customers.
Our OSS ecosystem is a blend of leading telecom/IT products designed in accordance with ITIL best practices, along with a selection of industry-specific tools for monitoring satellite communication. These tools should seamlessly integrate to provide our Engineering and Operations teams with comprehensive situational awareness. As a key member of this team, you will contribute to evolving the environment to support operational needs.
You will be responsible for the following systems within the ServiceNow platform:

• Physical and Logical Inventory (CMDB, Enrichment Main, Source Integrations)
• Service Assurance Applications (Change, Incident, Case, Problem, Catalog Request)
• Service Lifecycle Applications (Order Management for Telecom, Agent Workspace)
• Event Management (Knowledge, Runbooks, Event Automation)
• Metrics and Analytics (Performance Analytics)

The Senior Principal Engineer's role centers on innovating solutions to complex OSS challenges, ultimately connecting technological investments with business results.

• As a Senior Principal Engineer, you will closely collaborate with both your team and business partners to meet new and existing technical demands.
• A key aspect of your role will be to concentrate on optimizing and expanding the capabilities of our CMDB.
• Assess requirements, provide estimates, and develop business solutions in a predictable and measurable sprint cadence
• Provide support for critical operations systems.

• Interact with our business partners and team leadership to distill their strategy into the OSS portfolio and roadmap
• Continuously improve operational processes and standards via refinement and/or automation recommendations
• Work in a matrixed environment to coach and mentor staff members and drive a cultural change in process and organizational thinking around systems, automation, and reporting.
• Work with team leadership to identify opportunities for technical, functional, and process improvements.

You should definitely have:

• 4-year college degree or equivalent technical experience
• 7 years+ of progressive work experience in IT in progressively advanced support and development roles
• Experience successfully leading technology and/or transformation projects impacting multiple departments
• Deep understanding of ServiceNow CMDB architecture and capabilities.
• Strong programming skills and familiarity with ServiceNow development concepts.
• Strong business acumen and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to accumulate, evaluate and generate insights from large and disparate data sources.
• Track record of delivering results
