The Senior Principle Software Engineer is an exciting role in supporting embedded software design activities within our research and development team. Primary focus of the role will be to provide engineering support for new product development, responsible for performing engineering analysis, design, and verification to requirements.
Your Team

Baxter seeks a Senior Principle Software Engineer to join our Care Solution business in Cary, NC. Baxter produces medical solutions to enable clinical communication and teamwork and promote patient safety and satisfaction in the acute care hospital environment.
What you'll be doing

• Leads requirement analysis, detailed design, and verification activities for a product or solution.
• Make difficult design trade-offs and decisions about features, schedule, quality and cost.
• Seek the efficient technology solutions to problems from internal and external options, and applies appropriate methodology to identify issues/concerns.
• Primary accountability for major element of a project, influence all tasks that are required, and lead all aspects of project outcome.
• Design, develop and/or head research and tests to validate effect and consequences of designs, process or product improvements across projects and/or products.
• Provide direction to development and test teams with respect to overall design and development.

What you'll bring

• Expertise in software development in C/C++ for microcontrollers / microprocessors
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development space
• Proficiency and comfort working with Linux, Embedded Linux
• Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
• Consistent record of completing tasks independently
• Experience and comfort with hardware debug using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, etc.
• Strong Object-Oriented development and design knowledge and experience
• Proven success in delivering results on technical challenges with industrial and/or consumer products

Preferred:

• BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Experience in Healthcare domain is preferred
• Bonus: Experience with embedded RF technology (eg: BLE, NFC)
• Bonus: Python, C#, MATLAB/Octave, R
