Senior Principal Software Engineer, C#, .NET Core, Azure

As part of our Precision Imaging Network (PIN) team, you'll be working on our AI-powered cloud platform that delivers patient-specific data and insights from diagnostic imaging into clinical and administrative workflows across the healthcare ecosystem. The only network of its kind, PIN is built on proven diagnostic imaging solutions already trusted by 80 percent of radiologists. PIN promotes better clinical outcomes across the entire patient journey - from initial screening through follow-up care. With more than 10,000 connected healthcare facilities for image and data exchange, we deliver real-time patient-specific insights to help solve the most pressing issues in patient care.
The Precision Imaging Network is one of Nuance's critical new growth initiatives. The company's objective is to leverage its significant existing footprint in imaging to build a multi-sided network platform for AI powered imaging that Drives Value to All Key Healthcare Stakeholders across Providers, Health Plans, MedTech and Pharma.
This is a great opportunity to engage early on a key new initiative. You will be a peer to the engineering manager and provide technical leadership across three scrum teams. It is a super exciting opportunity, come in for an interview to learn more.
Principal duties and responsibilities:

• Architects, designs, and develops components for large scale distributed systems with a strong focus on security, high availability, scalability, robustness, and observability.
• Continuously improves our ability to deliver quality & reliable solutions, evolving our engineering process and growing our technical capabilities.
• Collaborates with product managers, architects, other engineering teams, to drive end to end solutions.
• Represents the company as the primary technical expert for the initiative.
• Drives modern software engineering practices and approaches through design and code reviews within the organization.
• Grows and mentors engineers in the organization.

Education:

• MSc/BSc Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Experience:

• 15+ years of experience

Required Skills:

• Must think of work as fun and enjoy being part of a team
• Clear written and verbal communication with an ability to motivate
• 8+ years of recent experience working with Java and C#/.NET
• Cloud experience with compute, storage, queuing, databases, and load balancers
• Demonstrated SQL experience including complex queries and stored procedures
• Experience containerizing applications with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with REST APIs (client and server)
• Strong written and oral communications skills as well as excellent listening skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with healthcare systems and standards (DICOM, HL7, FHIR).
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team.
