Job Summary:
As a Senior Principal Software Engineer you are ready to perform as a seasoned leader within a major software development program. You would also oversee, plan, or review the work of others as well as coordinate with other leaders in a scaled team environment. Setting priorities for your team a Product Owner in support of larger software effort.

You might also be called upon to work autonomously.

All teams develop software in C++. Some also use C, Java, Python, Matlab, and others. Candidates can expect to work on many if not all the phases of the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Actively collaborate with other Product Owners
• Manage and fulfill expectations agreed to with fellow leaders as well as customers
• Present to customer regarding planning, progress, and technical information to the customer. Gathering and applying feedback to development team direction.
• Lead a team developing robust and scalable software in C++ running Linux operating systems on a variety of computing platforms using Agile development methods.
• Participate in developing DevSecOps culture and implementation strategies.
• Participate on a cross-functional team performing analysis of radar data.
• Plan work of a small team in support of Agile management.
• Provide feedback to other team members based up a review of their work.
• Support or lead software integration and verification activities.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, products, and teaming.
• Work in a team environment with the product and design teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translate these into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.
• Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering. engineering OR In absence of a degree, a minimum of 14 years of experience is required.
• Experience leading a team organized using an Agile method.
• Experience with C++ application code development and Linux/Unix.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.

• Experience in metrics collection and reporting, especially as related to Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Familiarity with a breadth of software tools, such as git, CMake, Eclipse, Matlab, Rational Rhapsody, Atlassian Suite, Rational Team Concert, Jenkins, DOORS, Google Test, Qt, etc
• Self-starter with experience in leading development, integration, and test activities
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with executive leadership and customer.
• Able to carry and lead multiple unrelated tasks and priorities at the same time
• Active Secret Clearance
