We are looking for a technical expert with proven expertise in applying Cloud and Edge Compute solutions to deliver differentiated Products and Customer Experiences. You will understand existing and emerging technology trends in the Cloud connectivity and Edge Compute space, with the ability to align innovative capabilities with Business and Commercial requirements to address cross-BU and sector specific needs. You will be part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional Product Development team that delivers against Intelsat's Development Roadmap, working to achieve related business goals and realize our strategic vision.
You will be a member of the Product Development organization with primary responsibility to collaboratively define Products and related Services under the roadmap backlog and iteratively deliver new / enhanced Products leveraging Cloud and Edge services, maximizing value though realization of cross-BU synergies. You will work across Business Units to understand the voice of the customer and related customer journeys, representing both the voice and journey for the Product Development team, defining/refining features and driving prioritization of initiatives in the LPM backlog. You will collaborate with Innovations and other key internal/external stakeholders in support of Product and Service design for all target sectors including Aeronautical, Maritime, Land Mobility, Government, Enterprise/MNO, Media. You will support Epic/Enabler intake development, Lean Business Case definition and prioritization of initiatives in the LPM backlog.
As a leading contributor, you will be responsible for the delivery of Intelsat's Product/Service Portfolio Architecture in support of target outcomes and commitments on behalf of Product Development. You will collaborate with Commercial Product Management, Regional Sales/Sales Support, Product Development, Innovations, CX team, Systems Engineering/Architecture and other key stakeholders to develop and implement the Intelsat's Product roadmap, supporting new Product concepts, value proposition and go-to-market strategies. You will build a deep understanding of the key needs and pain points for a range of customer segments, identifying opportunities to deliver value and differentiation in the market and align Product-Service Architecture to market value and Intelsat's strategic objectives.
Are you up to the challenge?
- Develop, evolve and execute against Intelsat's Product Roadmap across all segments - drive initiative & feature definition and development linked to Cloud and Edge, delivering value with each iteration, define acceptance and related test and validation criteria
- Provide a centralized Cloud and Edge SME function within Product Development
- Work closely with Business Unit (external) Product Management, Sales/Sales Support, Channel Management, Marketing and other stakeholders to capture key needs and pain points for all segments and translate into feature & capability requirements for Cloud and Edge to address those defined needs and pain points
- Understand the competitive landscape, including competitor service offerings and E2E solution components, feature parity and systems design
- Support infrastructure/system development and integration to deliver core Cloud and Edge capabilities leveraging both Public & Private Cloud solutions - evaluate and recommend enhancements to infrastructure and systems to address growth, technology evolution and industry innovation
- Collaborate on Cloud and Edge technology solution evaluations with our Innovations team and external technology development partners - evaluate new features/capabilities to enhance existing Products and introduce future products and solutions
- Track industry trends and identify potential partnership opportunities and that will impact target verticals
- Develop relationships with Cloud connectivity and service partners and other related manufacturers that can bring new product and service capabilities into the Product portfolio
- Define and drive Edge function development, Edge Compute solutions and application support as core component of E2E service
- Support the development and management of key vendor relationships
- Assist Business Unit Product Management and Product Marketing (Go-to-Market) with the development of customer collateral and training material - support training on new Products as needed
- Support the definition of acceptance and related test and validation criteria to facilitate the successful launch of Intelsat Products
- Collaborate with Commercial & Government Product Management stakeholders to drive alignment on Product & Service architecture and the linked Customer Experience
- Provide expert knowledge and experience of industry best practices for Cloud and Edge - demonstrate competence in network, Product/Service design and implementation strategies
- Leverage Agile and LPM framework to support timely, incremental Product Development tied to business value, delivering value with each iteration
- Support the development and approval of business cases for new Product development initiatives within the Agile Product Development framework
You should definitely have:
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Engineering or other technically oriented business focus, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in Product/Service/Network architecture and design, preferably including the Satcoms sector
- Demonstrated Product Development experience, including Product lifecycle management, complex systems development and execution of Product plans and strategies - understanding of technology and business with an established background in launching Products in partnership with stakeholders
- Must have at least 7 years of relevant experience and certification in Cloud connectivity/services, Mobile Edge Compute (MEC), edge function/applications, VNFs, containerized edge build and edge solution design, implementation and support - including but not limited to Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Must have knowledge and experience across wide range of technologies and network components including VSAT platforms, modems, routers, switch design and architecture as well as transport, routing and signaling protocols
- Must have well-developed knowledge and experience understanding industry best practices on E2E Cloud solution design and delivery, including linked Product/Service design and implementation strategies
- A lean-agile mindset that prioritizes outcomes over outputs while aligning distributed teams toward the same
- The ability to cross functionally derive a Product / Portfolio vision including defining the initiatives and experiments necessary to realize the same
- Able to guide a team or teams in a complex development and business environment and enjoy being part of a team that thrives on delivering exceptional products that provide value to the customer and the organization
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain and influence internal and customer working relationships at all levels
- High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability with strong decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
- Understanding of financial concepts to assist in business case development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
- Flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment and lead a team through change
- Experience with tools like Jira, Miro board, Jama, etc.

- Respected and built a reputation by demonstrating Product/Service expertise, representing your company as a speaker at industry conferences and publishing white papers
