Each role at Miro is based at one of our physical hubs and we look for talent who want to be part of these local, collaborative communities. Mironeers work in a hybrid model, with a 3 days a week in-office culture as our baseline.
About the role
We're looking for a curious, hardworking, and dedicated Privacy Counsel to join our Privacy team who will be reporting to the Head of Privacy. Your primary responsibility will be to help design, improve, and scale Miro's privacy and data protection tools and processes. You will also spend time working with other parts of the organization to help navigate privacy related risks and issues, lead all aspects of our data subject request process, and help detail our practices and provide practical guidance on privacy issues to our merchants. We also want someone who can help grow and mature how we handle privacy as the business continues to scale.
What you'll do
  • Becoming a trusted strategic advisor of the business teams to advise and support on new products, services and initiatives, such as those involving new technology, marketing campaigns and app developer requirements
  • Support and manage the drafting and negotiation positions for a wide range of contracts for high revenue transactions, vendor and Partner agreements including complex commercial agreements, enterprise cloud sales contracts involving global data protection and privacy matters and risk management .
  • Drafting and supporting the implementation of Miro's privacy compliance arrangements, such as privacy policies and procedures
  • Conduct privacy reviews of such initiatives by reviewing information submitted through our privacy management system, gathering further information and conducting legal research
  • Monitor legal, regulatory and policy developments in our 30+ jurisdictions and work on projects to address new legal requirements, e.g. CCPA, PIPL in China, EU data transfers

What you'll need
  • 5+ year of legal experience advising on technology products
  • Experience at a global company advising on privacy related matters
  • Proven track record of building and scaling an efficient legal support process for Privacy development in a SaaS company
  • Solid understanding of major privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and/or PIPEDA
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams, build consensus among stakeholders, and maintain strong relations at all levels across the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. This role involves handling multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, and carrying out those projects to completion in a timely manner
  • The ability to prioritize well, work efficiently, and demonstrate flexibility as workloads fluctuate with minimal direction

  • The reasonably estimated salary is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations. The range for this role is between $226,800-$277,200. Included in the total package is an equity component, this may also include variable compensation. Final compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience
