Senior Procurement Specialist

The Opportunity

The heart of insitro’s strategy is the combination of novel, cutting edge methods in machine learning, biology at scale and small molecule discovery that address key bottlenecks in the drug development pipeline.  This strategy requires a seamless, robust, and effective operation that simultaneously spans multiple projects, some partnered and some in-house. Our success relies on working across functions, including external research partners, to ensure that projects have what they need for successful execution.

This role reports directly to insitro’s Head of Procurement Operations and will be a key member in developing and enhancing the Procurement function. The ideal candidate is one who relentlessly strives to grow and develop as a professional, embodies “legendary customer service” and wants to make a difference not only supporting insitro, but most importantly, bring a desire to improve how life changing and saving therapeutics are discovered and made available to those in need!

You will:

• Implement day-to-day operational activities in Oracle and boundary applications such as completing purchase requisitions/orders, communications with suppliers, order status updates to team members and shared-mailbox management while providing high quality support to all employees
• Handle supplier relationships, negotiate terms and costs, and ensure suppliers are meeting contractual obligations
• Collaborate with critical departments to identify their procurement needs and partner with Finance colleagues to develop plans to meet those needs
• Supervise market trends and identify potential suppliers who can provide high-quality goods and services at competitive prices
• Partner with broader Finance team to resolve invoicing, receiving and general close activities as needed
• Ensure Procurement activities align with all relevant policies and regulations
• Complete key support to CapEx sourcing, negotiating and purchasing
• Analyze procurement data and report on procurement key performance indicators and metrics to senior management
• Chip in to systems and operational improvements through identification of inefficiencies and bottlenecks, testing, implementation and change management
• Support key supply chain activities and support innovative solutions including inventory management, item master, mix/max inventory and ordering, logistics support and issue resolution

You have:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or blend of education and experience)
• Demonstrated ability in procurement and finance roles with at least 5 years of professional experience
• Experience in biotech and Life Sciences companies
• General knowledge and understanding of ERP/STP systems (Oracle Cloud preferred)
• Proficiency of G-Suite and MS-Suite (demonstrable understandings of Excel/Sheets and PPT/Slides)

Compensation & Benefits at insitro

Our target starting salary for successful US-based applicants for this role is $110,000 - $135,000. To determine starting pay, we consider multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education and experience, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. We may also adjust this range in the future based on market data.

This role is eligible for participation in our Annual Performance Bonus Plan (based on company targets by role level and annual company performance) and our Equity Incentive Plan, subject to the terms of those plans and associated policies.
