 Job Description 

The Senior Procurement Specialist will plan and implement activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. 

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:  

  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. 
  • Ensures availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels: Lead Time, Pricing, EOQ, Safety Stock, Etc. 
  • Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services, as well as coordinating global procurement efforts 
  • Placing PO’s and planning material requirements to support inventory, production, and customer requirements while maintaining cost objectives 
  • Communicating Past Due PO’s, reschedule requests, and expediting deliveries with our supplier 
  • Manages materials supply and inventory levels to meet manufacturing goals, review ECO’s and work closely with suppliers and internal teams to update required data and communicate changes and has strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Materials, Science or Business discipline. 
  • Minimum of 8 years’ purchasing and/or supply chain experience in life sciences/biotech 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience with various ERP systems and functions (NetSuite preferred) 
  • Attention to detail and effective organizational skills

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $110,000-$150,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position,  an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
