If you love solving customer problems, diving into strategy, advocating for craft, mentoring designers, and scaling teams, this is a great role for you. You’ll partner with senior members of the product, engineering, and research groups to deliver exceptional products that our customers love. You’ll manage a team of senior and mid- level designers and coach them to do their best work while at the same time partnering closely with the design leadership team to refine, extend, and celebrate our unique design culture.

This role will be responsible for Data Platform: Data Lake, Data Pipelines, Developer Platform and Data Engineering Experiences (DEX) as well as UI Platform and maturing our design system function. We’re looking for someone who can drive a mission critical project with great design, deliver collaboratively and efficiently, and build an incredible team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set the vision, strategy and culture for the team

  • Partner with product management, other design leaders and engineering to prioritize and execute a roadmap that delivers value and enables the organization to scale

  • Attract top talent in partnership with recruiting. Coach and address talent gaps.  Retain top talent. 

  • Help designers grow

  • Champion Product Excellence

  • Contribute to Snowflake-wide design initiatives

REQUIREMENTS :

  • 12+ years in Product Design which 5+ years in people management

  • Experience managing feature / product  and design system teams

  • Demonstrated ability to manage the entire product design lifecycle from concept to launch

  • Deep customer empathy coupled with a sensitivity to the business

  • High quality portfolio of launched products you’ve personally designed or from teams you have managed

  • Mindset of staying close to the product details

  • Experience building or leading simple, powerful tools for complex domains a plus
