THE OPPORTUNITY: Senior Manager, Product Design
REPORTS TO: Chief Technology Officer
LOCATION: US, Remote with quarterly travel to LA or NY
Birdy Grey is looking for a Senior Manager, Product Design. This is a player/coach role where ~70% of your time will be spent executing and ~30% of your time will be spent managing workflows and collaborating with your team. You will be responsible for the Digital Product Design function -, creating end-to-end user experiences, organizing user research, scaling our product design system, and delivering high fidelity visual user flows and experiences.
Scope Of Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product management, engineering, creative, brand, marketing, and business stakeholders to shape the birdygrey.com product design vision and strategy
• Manage the end-to-end design process from discovery to concept ideation to user flows, wireframes, components, detailed visual mockups, and prototypes
• Test prototypes with users, present to stakeholders for buy-in and alignment
• Responsibly and effectively advocate for the user; fostering a shared understanding of the intersection between design, technology and business.
• Present to executive-level leadership and support your design rationale using quantitative data and site metrics, user feedback, and usability findings
• Identify and execute unmet research opportunities that can add insights and value
• Manage and mentor a team of Product Designers

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE: QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Experience / Requirements

• 8+ years professional experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or Interaction designer, preferably in the DTC e-commerce industry.
• 1+ years experience mentoring and managing a team of Product and/or UX Designers
• Portfolio of work demonstrating ability to create seamless user experiences across a range of industries with emphasis in UI and interaction design.
• Expert proficiency with Figma
• Experience working directly with engineers to bring new designs to life; strong understanding of responsive design and WCAG accessibility guidelines for desktop and mobile web
• Experiencing creating and scaling component based digital product design systems
• Experience organizing and running a UX Research Practice
• Excellent communication, ability to work in ambiguous environment, prioritizing and managing multiple milestones and projects efficiently
• Experience running design working /review sessions

• Experience working with data teams and marketers, analytical rigor, ability to derive and synthesize insight from product analytics data sources
• Experience designing for the Shopify platform
• Experience with 0-1 projects
• Experience managing a team in a remote environment
