The team

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to join the Core Experience team in defining the overall user experience for Kraken products. We are a team that works and thinks horizontally about challenges like navigation information architecture discoverability of features and messaging across the product. We balance the desire to drive significant impact on business objectives with the obsession to deliver insight-backed and intentional designs. Our team works closely together on projects and we have an open culture that values honest feedback.

The opportunity

• Translate user needs and business requirements into sensible user experiences working closely with product managers researchers engineers and other designers

• Balance business objectives customer needs and insights and technical considerations to shape solutions that are holistically thought out

• Develop deep understanding of design systems and patterns to ensure cohesion across products and use cases while continuing to improve our patterns and usage guidelines

• Define product information architecture and create standards that push for sensibility and scalability at the structural level and UI level

• Take concepts from research to exploration to prototypes to production

• Actively participate in design reviews both seeking and giving meaningful and supportive feedback

Skills you should HODL

• Minimum 5+ years of experience delivering high-quality product design work across mobile and desktop platforms. Past experience in core experiences growth or horizontal teams is preferred.

• Systems thinker with experience designing and architecting complex product experiences holistically beyond individual features

• Demonstration of excellent visual and interaction design skills

• Understanding of quantitative and qualitative user insights

• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and effectively communicate across and upward

• Self-driven and organized able to navigate complex problems and ambiguities

• A desire to work on a growing and evolving design team helping shape its culture and operations

• An interest in Bitcoin cryptocurrency and financial products

• Experience designing financial products trading platforms or numerically-oriented interfaces
