Position Overview: 

As a member of the Product Design team, the Senior Product Designer defines and owns the end-to-end user experience across our fleet of customer-facing robots and BrainOS applications. This includes the robot’s interaction with the daily operators and general public, along with the tools for service, deployment, and robot manufacturing users.

As part of the Product Design Team, this individual will identify and define robotic experiences that empower the workforce of the future. You will become intimate with how our robots integrate into our customer workflows and own the subtle details of creating elegant UI and robotic solutions to drive customer usage and engagement. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Craft the architecture, interface, and interaction flow of physical and digital experiences.
  • Be a design leader, developing continuity between hardware, software and web/mobile apps.
  • Deliver new and innovative approaches to evolving design challenges.
  • Partners with Product Management and Strategy in field research to observe and quantify customer behavior to drive data-driven insights, design principles, and develop use cases.
  • Understand customer needs using research, feedback, and market analysis.
  • Develop personas, journey maps, conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual comps and prototypes.
  • Creates and directs embedded user interface design, architecture, and functionality according to usability best practices, and user-tested data.
  • Incorporates feedback from field data and observations to improve customer usage and engagement.
  • Utilizes and adds to existing design systems, based on standards and best practices, to define and implement design criteria, design guidelines, and design specs.
  • Collaborates effectively with researchers, product management, HW/SW engineering, and other team members.
  • Contribute to the development of the creative team's culture and quality standards.

What you Need:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in UX design, human computer interaction, interaction design or related discipline
  • 5-8 years of experience in interaction design, service design, or related fields.
  • Focused on customer-centricity in all decisions and outcomes
  • Intellectually curious
  • Enthusiastic, excited and adaptable  
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills 
  • Resilient and flexible mindset that gravitates to problem solving and decision making
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to celebrate success and learn from failure
  • Mastery of design tools such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with prototyping as a means to explore and convey design solutions.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity and self-direct overall design approach

  • Advanced visual design, motion, and prototyping skills
  • Conceptual thinker, a problem solver with the ability to step back and look at the big picture
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction Design, or other relevant fields
  • Strong interest and experience in robotics, data science, and machine learning products

Salary Range:

The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego, California is $122,850 to $136,500. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Brain Corp is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
