Senior Product Designer
Job Description
I. Position Summary
Allen Media and The Weather Group is an award-winning global creative content production ecosystem; we combine our talent, technology, and craft to create memorable and distinctive experiences across a range of channels and platforms, and apps.
Reporting to the UX Design Director, the Senior Product Designer is responsible for designing the user interface and visual presentation for Allen Media/The Weather Group's digital platforms and content including video entertainment focused TV/OTT apps, desktop, mobile, and tablet. The Senior Product Designer will partner with the leaders in editorial, product, and design on all aspects of producing the highest quality UX/UI design across all platforms.
* Candidates must provide a portfolio of demonstrated ability to use UX/UI/Product design to solve complex usability challenges across web, mobile and ideally CTV

III. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with product managers to identify, define, and refine requirements
- Creating simple, elegant user experiences that help viewers/customers accomplish their goals
- Documenting and maintaining UX design patterns and standards
- Collaborating with engineers/developers to implement designs within technical or time constraints
- Creating high-fidelity mockups, wireframes, prototypes
- Conceptualize and create best of class UX and product design across our ecosystem of platforms for all of our brands
- Serve as the creative voice and owner in meetings to push the limits of design and experience with solid presentation skills and materials
- Contribute to and help maintain established design systems
- Collaborates with the Design Director on any design needs that arise
IV. Education, Experience, Certification Requirements
- A degree in Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Graphic Design, or similar field related is desired or equivalent demonstrated experience
- 5+ years of UI / UX design experience producing engaging, usable, and effective design solutions
- Previous experience creating video focused/entertainment apps (mobile & tablet) and websites
- Ideally has previous OTT/CTV app experience
- Expertise in using color, style, iconography, typography, information design, and visual hierarchy
- Experience working in an iterative, agile environment
V. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Highly organized and able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels including ownership and executive levels.
- Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
- Proficient with Figma (Designing & Prototyping)
- Ability to manage multiple projects, involving cross-functional teams, in an efficient manner
- Demonstrated decision-making, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Understands nuances between web/mobile web//iOS/Android/CTV (Roku, Fire TV, TVOS, Google TV, etc) design and how to maximize each experience
- A solid understanding of user-centered design principles
- Ability to quickly generate and iterate prototypes of designs across various platforms to better articulate vision and experience
- Onboarding UX experience for SVOD and TVOD is a plus
