ABOUT THE ROLE

As Senior Product Designer at Extend, you'll have the opportunity to shape every facet of our product across web, iOS, and Android platforms. Your role will be pivotal in collaborating with product and engineering teams to effectively convey, evolve, and implement a robust product design standard.

While our product has a high focus on utility, being the kind of creative designer who looks for ways to add personality and energy to complex interfaces and flows is important. At Extend, we emphasize the notion that design should enable users to more easily complete the task at hand, and we're always looking for ways to make our product a delight to use. Be ready to delve into nuanced interactions, micro copy, and iconography. This is a hybrid role, based out of our New York City office, with three days on-site. At Extend, you’ll:

• Full-stack designing of new product features and enhancements, from initial problem definition, research and discovery, wireframing and flows, all the way through handing off polished UI designs and write-ups to developers
• Take ownership and lead design across various disciplines for significant parts of our product, from concept to launch
• Develop prototypes and immerse yourself in user feedback, UX research, and data to pinpoint areas of friction and avenues for enhancement
• Iteratively enhance our core product to deliver greater value
• Work within and contribute to our existing design system
• Lead engaging design critiques

THE CANDIDATE

Ideally, you’ll have:

• At least 8+ years of UX/UI and product design experience
• Strong portfolio and ability to speak through design decisions
• Proficiency in information architecture, typography, copy, and visual hierarchy that allows you to efficiently and creatively solve complex design problems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working cross-functionally in an agile environment with engineering, marketing, design and product management teams
• Experience with hands on UX and visual design, working in a fast paced, iterative environment
• Experience working with tools including Figma, Jira, Slack, Google Apps, etc.
• Experience mentoring junior designers
• Experience working on products in both B2B and B2C companies

The salary for this role is up $120,000-$140,000. There is potential for the title to flex to Product Design Lead. Your final base salary will be determined based on various factors which may include, but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications. You may be eligible to participate in Extend’s annual bonus plan, based on individual and organizational performance.
