Senior Product Designer

Are you an experienced designer ready to shape a consumer-facing product? Have you worked on platforms like Tech Ed, social networks, or other engaging user experiences?
We’re looking for a Senior (Founding) Product Designer at Manara, a social impact startup with a small but mighty team. Our mission is to unlock human potential in the MENA region, diversifying the global tech sector and uplifting regional economies. We identify, train, and place MENA’s top tech talent into world-class roles, building a tech-driven community that supports their career journeys.

Location
Middle East, North Africa, or Europe is strongly preferred. You'll be working with a team based there primarily. Our founders are in Silicon Valley so you'll need to work in the evenings sometimes to interact with them.

Your role
As our first Senior Product Designer, you’ll lead the design direction and user experience for our upskilling platform. This opportunity will allow you to build a cohesive, engaging platform from the ground up, collaborating on product strategy, roadmaps, and new initiatives. Imagine creating a blend of Udacity, LinkedIn, and Stack Overflow – specifically for MENA.

What we’re looking for

• User experience: You turn abstract ideas into valuable designs, defining success metrics to continually improve.
• Visual design: You have a keen eye for detail and experience in UI tools like Figma, creating visually impactful products.
• Community expertise:You understand what makes social networks and communities thrive. Experience with platforms like LinkedIn, Slack, or Udacity is a plus.
• Leadership: You’re passionate about creating meaningful, user-centered experiences. You thrive in a fast-paced startup and can lead the UX from concept to launch, working with Product and Engineering

• Remote work savvy: Effective in async communication and cross-time-zone collaboration.
• Mission-driven: Passionate about empowering tech talent in MENA, especially women and Palestinians
• Management experience: Interested in leading and growing a design team.
